said that once he was in search of water to perform ablution for prayers and then he pricked the ground with
his stick(Asa) and milk came out. But he said the milk can’t be used for ablution and is only used for drinking.
After that the milk changed into water and in this way the meadow got its name to Doodhpathri, “doodh”
means milk and “pathri” means meadows. Doodhpathri means valley of milk. Nilnag and Yusmarg are the
other two spots which you can cover while visiting doohpathir in Budgam. Some other places to visit in
